B hotel & Barcelona

I've always wanted to see Barcelona, ever since a few of my cousins went without me and came back with amazing stories about the great tapas and beautiful architecture.

Determined as always, I asked my friend if he was up for it and we literally booked on impulse. In being the most organised person I proclaim to be I created an itinerary, researched a few hotels and came across B hotel. After checking reviews on good ole Trip Advisor I happened to stumble across a picture on Instagram and instantly fell in love.

Located on one of Barcelona’s busiest areas in Catalonia, Plaza Espanya with its neighbours being a mall, The Magic Fountai, Museu National d’art de Catalunya which is now in my top 5 of beautiful museums and within minutes of walking from Espanya metro station - B hotel has 84 rooms and three different room types spread across 6 floors. If you’re feeling lazy and don’t wish to leave your room, they have room service until 10.30pm as well. I stayed in one of the standard sized rooms, which was a good size for a weekend as I spent most of my time sightseeing and partying. It’s hard to find hotels aboard that offer great wifi, which is free so I was head over heels that B Hotel, offered the code on our arrival. I’m not much of a TV person when I’m away so I wasn’t disappointed that there weren’t many channels to watch.

The lobby was fairly quiet and they served a good ole continental breakfast. If you’re like me and love rooftop pools and breath taking views then B hotel will definitely tick your box. Up on the 8th floor is where I spent most mornings laying in the sun, people watching and admiring the Gran Vila. (The beds fill up rather quickly so getting up there early is a must.) Serving hot/cold food and drinks I enjoyed a bowl full of Doritos, guacamole and a few too many cocktails. I'm not a fan of mashed avocado but you have to try it! It was delicious.

The bathroom has a built in bath and shower with its own smellies, it isn't your standard hotel bathroom either as it has a clear glass separating itself from the bedroom. (Don’t worry there are blinds you can close!)

If you're looking for a place to stay while you explore Barcelona and don't want to spend too much, B hotel should definitely be on your list. Oh and one last thing don’t forget to party at the W hotel (they have really good club nights) hop on the tour bus, see the Sagrada Familia, stroll through Las Ramblas and visit Museu d’Art Contemporani.
