Been to Brixton lately? Notice anything different? Unless you’ve been living under a rock you will realise that the hipsters are slowly creeping in. You will find them in Brixton village soaking in the vibes or having a drink down Brixton station road.
With all the overflow of new people when I heard ‘Pop Brixton’ was opening I was a little sceptical of the idea as I thought it was another way to push out the locals so I went to pay it a visit to the new shipping containers.
I kept on thinking it would be like Boxpark but was totally surprised with the new foodie and shop destination that's aiming to help the local community and keep the tenants involved by welcoming start-ups and offering units at subsidised rates.
It wasn’t a Friday but I went down to Hook for fish and chips and I can only say one word…. DELISH!!!!! Offering Classic Panko Cod, Jamaican Jerk Panko Hake, Cuban Style Panko Hale et al with a portion of house cut twice salted chips for a tenner - Hook is definitely a place to visit at Pop Brixton.
And don’t worry the hipsters aren’t swarming Pop Brixton so make sure you head on down there real soon peeps!
