So as you all know I was planning my trip to Jamaica for months and was so excited as I was going for a friends wedding. I spent a whole week there, sipping on piña colada cocktails, rum punch along with eating jerk chicken pretty much everyday.
If my friend never got married in Jamaica I wouldn't really have ventured there, as it wasn't on my 'places to visit in the Caribbean' list.
Now I warn you if you don't have Jamaica on your bucket list I suggest you grab a pencil and add it somewhere between 'Thailand and Dubai'......
Staying at the Club Riu hotel in Negril I could have spent my whole holiday on that beach eating delicious food and drinking all day as everything was inclusive but I had to see Jamaica and she's such a beaut.
Our taxi driver took us to Negril town and then a neighbourhood which he called a 'village', it was emotional seeing children not have much but still smiling and adults just getting by... Made me realise how fortunate I am to live in London and be able to travel the world.
We explored where cotton was grown along with ackee, green banana and plants that could help diabetic peeps (no kidding) - I was amazed by this point as we were on top of a hill and had a beautiful view....
Breathtaking to say the least...
Being in a big group it meant going out in the evening was more than fun - it was brilliant! Because everyone was always up for a night out. We went to a place called Jungle and Margueritaville leaving at early hours of the morning!!!!!
Ever seen a man jump off a cliff? Me neither until I went to Rick's cafe... You simply can't go to JA and not visit Ricks Cafe. Peeps jump from 35 feet - yes 35 it's crazy!!!!!!! Not to worry there are lower levels, we came via the boat cruise and they advised us not to dive so we didn't but we did snorkel (don't be jelly lol). I will admit I was pretty scared to snorkel but it was an amazing experience and I would do it again for sure.
The wedding day..... I know you've been waiting for this!!!! It was beautiful, I mean when are you ever going to attend a wedding on a beach? Doesn't happen very often. It took place at Azul Sensatori Hotel and let's just say we partied the night away in this beautiful hotel which was literally 5 mins down the road from ours.

Our last day was spent in the pool at our hotel, most of the guests stayed at Club Riu and Club Riu Palace so they were able to come over to our hotel and enjoy the pool side.
We drank piña colada and strawberry daiquiri until the cows came home - to be fair I think we lost count in total how many we had a day. Being a child friendly hotel there were loads of young teenagers and children around but that didn't matter as they built the ambiance.
With Negril Jamaica having some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, you should definitely pay the seven mile beach a visit... Waking up for seven days to clear blue water was bliss (trust me).
I'm already thrilled now about my next holiday to Dubai and will of course be keeping you posted on swimwear and travel bits I pick up along the way.
Until next time Jamaica #OneLove!
