Firstly I just want to wish you all a Happy New Year and hope you have a faboulous 2017!
I know 2016 was a pretty weird year from Brexit to Trump winning the U.S Election (I know Trump is actually going to be the next US President). Nevertheless, despite the ups and downs 2016 was ok right? Well we survived it and I think 2017 is going to be good.
I'm steering away from News Years Resolutions going forward and instead focusing on 2017 'Goal's. As 5 is the magic number (ok I made that up) I've put together my 5 goals for 2017 that I hope to look back at next year and say 'Yasss I did that'...
I MUST START READING MORE! My sister got me a Kindle for Christmas (whoop whoop) and I'm going to ensure I put it to good use instead of anxiously trying to connect to wifi on the tube during my commutes. My first three reads on my list are: Issa Rae 'The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl', Luvvie Ajayi 'I'm Judging you' and Chimamanda Ngozi 'Americanah'...
2. No Phone Zone
Speaking of phones and anxiously chasing wifi on the tube and sometimes in bed. I'm going to have a 10-20min downtime before I sleep every night which entails just reading on my tablet. My Bible app will be shown more love as I've set up weekly plans which I will read before I like a picture on Instagram in the mornings .
3. More Holidays
So last year I didn't get to go away (as a passenger), yes I am extremely grateful for having a job that allows me to travel but sometimes I want someone to say to me... 'Any tea or coffee for you madam'. On my Travel list I'm hoping NYC, Ghana, Iceland and hopefully a cheeky Barca/Amsterdam trip.
4. Pass my Driving test
I have a love and hate relationship with driving, I love it because it means I can go wherever I want but I hate it because I kinda keep on failing my test but I'm hoping it's a third time lucky sorta thangggg! Wish me luck guys
5. Save, Save and Save
As I'm getting older life is getting more serious and as much as I would love to stay at home forever where my mum cooks and washes my clothes I know I can't so I'm trying to save my pennies... I am taking baby steps and I've given myself a yearly goal which I won't disclose but I will be honest and let you know if I do/don't reach it.
What are your #2017Goals?
